🌱 February: Reset, Reflect, Rebuild
February always feels a bit like a warm-up — the quiet hum before everything blooms. This month, I gave myself permission to slow down, reflect, and gently rebuild.
After the whirlwind of the last year, I’ve spent a lot of time rethinking the wellbeing app — sitting with it properly, listening to the little voice inside that tells me what kids and families really need. I want the app to feel like a hug and a helping hand. A place where little ones can feel heard and grown-ups can breathe, even if just for a minute. We’re not at the finish line yet, but we’re closer.
Between shifts at work, long dog walks through the fields, and making dinner with the radio on, I’ve been stitching ideas together. Some days it flows, other days it doesn’t — but I’m learning to trust the process again. It’s hard being a one-woman show at times, especially with big dreams and small pockets of time, but we carry on.
To every single hard-working single parent or carer out there, trying to hold it all together — I see you. You’re doing more than enough. And if nobody told you today: you’re blooming brilliant.
🧠 March: Big Moments, Big Feelings
March has been one for the books.
The biggest news? I was invited to the House of Lords as one of the Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs for International Women’s Day. Honestly, it was surreal. I’m not a city girl — give me muddy boots and a long walk with the dogs over networking and nibbles any day! So yes, it was nerve-wracking. Socialising isn’t exactly my comfort zone, but I’m so proud I pushed myself.
I met some truly inspiring women who welcomed me, shared their stories, and introduced me to others. It reminded me that we’re stronger together — and that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply show up, even when your knees are wobbling.
Back home, my focus returned to the app redesign. March had me in my head — in a good way. Rethinking how the app should look, feel, and function. I’ve been preparing it for the next development phase and, hopefully soon, for pitching. I’m excited and a little scared, but I know this work matters.
The heart of everything I do — from Woogie Big Pants to the app to the free resources — is this: give children a voice, and help families feel less alone.
🌼 April: Hanging In & Cheering You On
To every parent, carer, grandparent and guardian: you’re my heroes this month.
April means school holidays, and I know how hard that can be. Balancing work, meals, emotions, and sanity is no small feat. So if you’ve spent this month with glitter in your hair, cereal on the carpet and tears (theirs or yours) in your eyes — you’re not alone. And you’re doing just fine.
To help a little, I’ve added a new page on the website filled with free downloadable resources. Little activities, calming tools, and fun bits to support you through the ups, downs and in-betweens. Think of them as a virtual cuppa and a hug from me to you.
On the creative side, I’ve been quietly celebrating the new illustrations in I Can’t Hear You. They’re full of character, heart, and humour — and they bring the story to life in such a special way. This book has always been close to my heart (it was written during one of those “I’ve asked you three times already” mornings 😅), so seeing it evolve has been a joy.
And on top of all that… I’ve got some exciting meetings coming up. The kind that make your stomach flutter in a good way. Fingers crossed this is the season where some seeds I’ve planted finally take root 🌱
Until then, I’ll keep showing up, doing the work, walking the dogs, and cheering on every tired-but-trying parent out there.
You’ve got this.
We’ve got this.
Together.
